I have been with GEICO for 20 years. Recently I added a 3rd car, a 2004 Scion xa (base) and my 23 year old daughter to my policy. My payments went from $227 x 4 payments = $908 6 month policy. Now I have to pay $522 x 4 payments = $2088 6 month policy with GEICO, that is $4176 a year. I did an online quote with Allstate and came back with a quote of $237 a month for 6 months = $1422. Same three cars and my daughter. I will be changing from GEICO. I think my rates have just inflated over the years and GEICO will not make adjustments when rates in a state go down. My policy for the state of Maryland goes up everytime I renew, never down. Also GEICO will not allow you to do an online quote if you currently already have a policy. Years ago, changed from Nationwide to GEICO, because they were cheap at time. GEICO say that I am getting all these discounts, but I don’t see why my insurance is so high. Without the discounts, it would be $5000. I have a good driving record, A++ credit and live in a pretty ok area. If you have been with a long time and think your insurance is high do some online quotes, you might be surprise the GEICO is not cheapest. Goodbye GEICO, hello Allstate.

i just switched from Geico to Allstate, getting triple the coverage and it saved me $414.00 a year. I WOULD SWITCH IF YOU WANT AN AFFORDABLE PREMIUM AND TOP NOTCH COVERAGE

Been with Allstate for over a decade. They were competitive till 2009. Was able to get much higher coverage for less with Geico. Geico ranks high on independant ratings including J.D. They are a Warren Buffet invested company and are very financial sound.

Geico’s website and new policy setup is light years better than Allstate.

Regardless of what insurance company you request quotes with on line, make sure that they run all motor vehicles reports that apply to any accidents that you have had in the last 3 yrs. If you don’t, they will give you a quote on line based on no accidents, then surprise you later with a new increased premium based upon the accident report with your State. Also notify your ins. co. as soon as you have gone 3 yrs. accident free. This will drop off any previous accidents on your record, resulting in a lower premium. They don’t automatically do or tell you this.

I have Geico and pay less than $500 per year. I don’t think it can get any better than that.

I insure two cars, one comprehensive one liability-only. Clean record. I comparison shop every year and GEICO has been cheaper by about 40% every for the last 3 years than any other company. In fact, I originally had Allstate but they rasied my insurance about 30% over a two year period with 0 claims and 0 tickets. Goodbye Allstate and good luck on keeping safe motorists…

I thought I’d compare GEICO with Allstate to see which was cheapest. But the funny thing is, after I completed the quick quote form on your site, it turned out that neither GEICO or Allstate had the lowest rate for my situation. But I actually saved more on my car insurance premiums.

Which is cheaper? Geez, that is so easy. Just go visit the J.D. Power insurance ratings like I did. That’s a well-known national independent unbiased appraiser of products and services.

J. D. Power awards Geico 4 stars out of 5 for pricing; Allstate gets only 3.

And my experience of several months ago confirms that: I moved from Allstate, which had been my insurer for over 20 years, over to Geico. The move was completely done on-line within 15 minutes, including all verifications of driving record and credit ratings, and temporary insurance card to print out – exactly as Gieco advertises. And my yearly insurance payment dropped by $250.

Comparing rates from different companies is always a fantastic way to save on insurance. Comparing rates from two companies is good, 5 is better, but the more the merrier! Great post.

yeah that ‘s true GEICO or Allstate ,both are cheap insurance companies.It ‘s really confusing which is better because both are good.
